Traditional Aizu craft Maki-e workshop at “Kinomoto Lacquerware and Crafts” + Ramen Shrine
The “Maki-e” is a traditional painting method of Aizu lacquerware with a history of over 400 years in the Kitakata region, and this place offers a “Maki-e” painting workshop. Visitors can create their very own, original items that can also be perfect souvenirs! You can then walk through the town of old warehouses and visit the Ramen Shrine. Unlike most shrines where people pray for good fortune or matchmaking, people pray here so they are able to enjoy delicious ramen. After viewing the Kitakata ramen exhibits, you can also try the famous ramen-flavored soft ice cream.
